Seasons

In temperate regions like the United Kingdom, we see a marked change in the temperature and the hours of sunlight throughout the year. The change in temperature is caused by a change in the strength, or intensity, of the sunlight that reaches us. The change is continuous, which means that it happens gradually; and over the course of a year moves from one extreme to the other and back again. This cyclical process has been divided into four seasons:
spring, summer, autumn and winter.
